We built this site to help people that have been diagnosed with a low vision condition figure out what the next steps are. Since 1980, we’ve been a specialty optical company helping ophthalmic practitioners help people that are often left behind by a broken healthcare system.
At some point in 2024, we realized there’s more we can do to help patients than the indirect way we’ve been doing for so long (i.e. through their practitioners). That’s where the idea for this site came from.
We know a lot about all things optical. Patients are often just given a diagnosis and shuffled out the door without much more. They’re often in shock or left with the feeling that there’s nothing to be done. We’re telling you there is usually something to be done. You’ll find that information on this site.
You may be losing some or all of your vision, but there are so many options out there to help you make the most of what you have left. We're here to make sure you know about them.
If you’re a practitioner that’s found this site, feel free to soak in as much as you’d like and send patients here for information. We understand you may not see some of these conditions every day or have the time to go in depth with patients. Again, that’s what this site is for.

Chadwick Optical is a company that sells things. We mainly sell complicated prescriptions to practitioners and hospitals, but we also have an ecommerce store called that sells low vision devices to anyone that needs them.
You will see links to products on this site. Most of those links will be to things we sell and make money from. Sometimes the links go to other people’s sites. We don’t make any money on those external links, but we want you to get what you need and there’s a chance we don’t sell it, yet.
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re getting tools that will make a difference in your life or the life of someone you care for.
Also, we are not medical professionals. The information on this site is for educational purposes and is based on our experience in optical solutions. If you have a question regarding a medical condition, please speak with your healthcare professional.
WHERE THIS SITE IS HEADED
We are in the process of building out the meat and potatoes of this site. That will be pages dedicated to specific conditions, categories of conditions, activities of daily living (ADLs) that correspond to those categories and finally any tools or solutions that address those ADLs.
For now, we have a series that discusses the - a great place for anyone to start - an active and links to a few specialized YouTube channels where we discuss all things optical.
